EASTERN COUNTIES SOUTH. 2005 Welcome to Eastern Counties South Area of the British Caravanners Club Our New Year Meet 2004/2005 was, as always, most enjoyable. The weather was kind to us and a full programme of activities made sure that everybody enjoyed themselves. New Years Eve had a Chinese theme and as you can see from the photo most people dressed the part.
Following this we had a few meets prior to Easter, one of which was at Kelvedon Hatch Club Site where we tried to set a new record for us, the most people in an awning for coffee morning. We managed about 25.
We then had our Easter Meet at Hallowtree Scout Camp, Ipswich where we a full programme of entertainment and some lovely Easter Bonnets
This was followed by many enjoyable weekends. We spent the Spring Bank Holiday at Dans Meadow in Suffolk and were joined by several of our old friends from Suffolk. Sunnybrook Farm, Felstead witnessed a pyjama party. The censor would not allow us to publish pictures of that. We then came to the Strawberry Meet held at the Huntsman and Hounds, Althorne. This was held on the same weekend as the Queen celebrated VE day so we decided that we would try to dress the part. Some lovely hats were worn by the ladies and the men were very efficient at serving us all.
More enjoyable weekends followed, regardless of the weather, then we were off to Sandringham for the last BCC AGM FOL. In future this event will the FOL and members meeting instead of an AGM due to the new constitution.
to be continued. . . . . .
